Shell's Prelude Floating LNG project is advancing

Shell's Prelude FLNG project is moving forward at a rapid pace, after the final investment decision in 2011.

The ship will be the world largest floating offshore facility, producing at least 5.3 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of liquids: 3.6 mtpa of LNG, 1.3 mtpa of condensate (equivalent to 35,000 bbl/d) and 0.4 mtpa of LPG.  It is currently being built at Samsung Heavy Industries' Geoje Island shipywards in South Korea and it is destined to be moored 475 kilometres north-northeast of Broome, Western Australia. The progress in the construction of Prelude FLNG are highlighted by a series of videos, which will be released by Shell. In the first one, the first year of construction is showed from the installation of the first processing module in South Korea to the construction of the largest turret ever built in Dubai. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b7LH-A2rkOY&feature=youtu.be The second video shows the recently launched helicopter, equipped for extreme weather conditions, which will work for an all-weather search and rescue service for the oil and gas industry of Australia, as part of the FLNG Prelude project. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JALrK_GpAHg&feature=youtu.be
