Iveco has announced that it will supply 10 New Stralis Natural Power (NP) vehicles, fuelled by LNG, to i-FAST Automotive Logistics. This order will mark the first European delivery of vehicles for LNG-powered car transport.
In recent months, i-FAST Automotive Logistics has tested the Stralis Hi-Road AT440S33T/P C-LNG model, which is equipped with tanks for both liquid and gaseous natural gas. They submitted the vehicle to a series of extended trials across different routes of increasing length and difficulty in both northern and central Italy.
Following the results of these trials, i-FAST Automotive Logistics opted to become the first car transporter fleet to offer this type of sustainable, low environmental impact transport. This decision was also based on expected short-term developments in the Italian LNG fuel distribution network: there are currently six LNG stations in Italy, but a further four new LNG sites are planned for later this year, bringing the total number to ten.
i-FAST Automotive Logistics operates a modern fleet of car transporters from the poles of Rivalta Torinese (Turin), Cassino (Frosinone), Pomigliano (Naples), Paglieta (Chieti) and Melfi (Potenza) and performs international transport in other eight European countries (Belgium, France, Germany, Great Britain, Netherlands, Poland, Switzerland and Spain).
