Contiship Italia Group entered a working partnership with IVECO through its multimodal transport operator Hannibal on LNG engines. The target is to explore the potential of this technology, to eventually employ them in the Intermodal and Logistic division of the Contship Italy group. The tests will be developed under the umbrella of the Poseidon MED project, which is financed by EU funding and is supported by the Contship Group and the Port Authority of La Spezia.
Together with the Italian LGT Autotrasporti Laverde company and the IVECO dealer working in the Milan area, Milano Industrial Spa, a new LNG Stralis Hi-Road truck, has been fueeled for the first time at the LNG filling station of ENI in Piacenza. Currently, the IVECO LNG technology has been installed on more than 300 vehicles all over Europe and it has 35% less NOx, 95% less fly ash and 10% less CO2 emissions.
If you are interested in the use of LNG for trucks, the topic will be discussed at the Third ConferenzaGNL and First FieraGNL. For further information, click here for the Conference, here for the Fair and here for the registration.
