Fosmax LNG, an Engie unit, informed that the French energy regulator, CRE approved the commercial principles of the transshipment service at the Fos Cavaou LNG terminal.
Fosmax said in a statement that it plans to offer transshipment service at the terminal in the second half of this year. The Fos Cavaou LNG terminal is directly accessible by sea by liquefied natural gas tankers with the capacity of up to 266,000 cbm. It has three 110,000 cbm cryogenic storage tanks and a regasification capacity of 8.25 billion cubic meters per year, which is the equivalent of around a sixth of French natural gas consumption.
Full decision of the CRE is available here.
