Nauticor, a subsidiary of the Nordic energy company Gasum, conducted a ship to ship LNG bunkering operation for a product tanker in Germany on last May. The bunkering operation for the product tanker Ramelia took place in the port of Brunsbüttel at the river Elbe. The operation was the first bunkering operation since Nauticor became a part of Gasum on April 30, 2020.
The container ship Wes Amelie has saved on average over US $ 3,000 per day (or about 2,750 Euros /day) during 2019, using liquefied natural gas (LNG) instead of maritime diesel (MGO)
In Germany the Transport Commission of the German Bundestag extended until 31 December 2023 the exemption from the motorway toll for LNG and CNG powered trucks, which has been in force since the beginning of 2019.
In Japan, the Sakaide Works shipyard of Kawasaki Heavy Industries launched the first LNG bunker vessel of the country; In South Korea it was held the steel cutting ceremony for the construction of an LNG bunker for coastal supplies, the first to be built exclusively with local South Korean technology.
here is also LNG in the framework agreement on the energy transition, signed by Saipem and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP) on 6 May. In particular, the development of intervention models is envisaged for the promotion, development and construction of infrastructures for the supply, transformation and use of LNG in maritime transport.
