The Western Australian government is pushing forward plans to create an international liquefied natural gas (LNG) fuelling hub in Pilbara as part of a move to reduce carbon emissions. The state government claims transition to LNG fuelled vessels in Pilbara ports could reduce emissions by up to six million tonnes per annum (Mtpa).
Nauticor, a subsidiary of the Nordic energy company Gasum, conducted a ship to ship LNG bunkering operation for a product tanker in Germany on last May. The bunkering operation for the product tanker Ramelia took place in the port of Brunsbüttel at the river Elbe. The operation was the first bunkering operation since Nauticor became a part of Gasum on April 30, 2020.
