The French company Trasports Bonnand has recently announced the order of three Volvo Trucks powered by Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), which will be delivered in the next March 2019.
The company plans to use the first Volvo FH LNG tractor on its commercial transport routes in the Rhône-Alpes / Paris region, with an average course of around 120,000 km/year, while the other two Volvo FM LNG models will be used for transport on the region of Greater Lyon.
For the French haulage contractor mainly concentrated in the Department of the Rhône, which collaborates with Volvo Trucks since 1970, the acquisition of the three LNG trucks is the result of a valuation started in 2015.
The owner of the company, Nicolas Bonnand, said he was very satisfied with the "technical quality offered by Volvo Trucks as well as the results related to consumption and profitability, collected after about a year of experimentation".
The new Volvo FH LNG and the flexible multispecialist Volvo LNG FM tractors, belonging to the category Euro 6 step C, display the gas engines G13C of 420 hp (at 2100 Nm) or 460 hp (at 2300 Nm) performing up to 1,000 km of autonomy.
