The LNG at Nicoli's driver training school

Nicoli Trasporti Spedizioni, a company based in Albino (Bergamo), has set up a training course for young truck drivers that includes knowledge of LNG and experience on vehicles powered by this fuel.

The training course is the first phase of a staff search reserved for young people aged 21 to 29 in Friuli. The company, which specializes in transport for third parties, is expanding nationwide with new offices and branches. Already present in Ravenna, San Giorgio di Nogaro, Reggio Emilia, Carimate (Como), Livorno, Marghera, Turin, Genoa and Piombino the next stop is Udine, Friuli's capital city.

Nicoli needs about 50 new drivers. Udine's logistics hub, opened in 2015, has a fleet of 20 aurotrains, capable of covering a thousand journeys per month. By 2020 the fleet will be increased with 15 new Iveco Stralis S-Way LNG tractors.

In an interview with "Il Friuli", General Manager Matteo Magoni said: "We tried a number of different routes for the staff search, but the traditional channels were not enough. So, in April 2019, thanks to the support of the "Et Labora" Foundation of Bergamo, a job agency, we launched a school for drivers".

"The 2020 Drivers' School will start in February, in Bergamo" continues Magoni. "It will last six months, until July, with a commitment of eight hours a day, five days a week. Those who want to attend the school will have to play forcefully move to Bergamo, but there will be reimbursement of expenses and logistical facilitations. But if the number of candidates is high, it is possible to open a branch of the school in Udine".

The school allows you to enter the profession of driver, obtaining both the driver's license and the Driver Qualification Card (CQC) at no cost, fully paid by the company; in addition, you are guaranteed entry into the world of work, with hiring at Nicoli through a professional apprenticeship contract.
