Novatek's LNG in ISO container for China

Novatek Gas & Power Asia and the Japanese Saibu Gas successfully completed at the beginning of December the first delivery of LNG in an ISO container to the Chinese Tiger Gas. The ISO containers, owned by Tiger Gas, were delivered by sea from Japan's Hibiki container terminal in Shanghai, China, with a spot contract for subsequent small-scale LNG sales to China.

Novatek Gas & Power Asia is a wholly-owned subsidiary of PAO NOVATEK, the largest independent natural gas producer in Russia, which entered the global LNG market in 2017 with the start of production of the Yamal LNG liquefier in Siberia.

"Together with our partners, we have successfully completed our first test delivery of LNG in ISO containers to China," noted Lev Feodosyev, NOVATEK's first vice president of the board. "ISO containers of LNG are expected to increase exponentially over the next few decades, allowing us to diversify our customer base by including small-scale LNG consumers and entering end markets in China and Japan."

The Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Region is the largest natural gas production area in the world and accounts for about 80% of Russia's natural gas production and about 15% of world gas production. Novatek, founded in 1994, is a public limited company listed in Russia on the Moscow Stock Exchange (MOEX) and the London Stock Exchange (LSE) under the symbol "NVTK".
