On November 8th, a new liquefied natural gas (LNG) filling station has been opened in the Tuscan town of Porcari (in the Province of Lucca). The MAC (Marchetti Carburanti) branded station has been located in the Frizzone district near the Capannori motorway exit, in a strategic geographic area characterized by the presence of industrial and paper industry and a high level of traffic.
The first fuel supply of the station - created by Torregas, a company of the Toscogas Group of the Marchetti family - was carried out on a truck IVECO Stralis NP 460.
The event saw the presence of Leonardo Fornaciari, the Mayor of Porcari, of Mihai Daderlat, Italy Market Business Director of IVECO, of Lorenzo Ghetti, owner of Ghetti SpA, IVECO area dealer, and Gianfranco Carpinelli of Torregas.
With this third LNG distribution station in Tuscany, the LNG distribution network in Italy, which has tripled in the last three years, should reach thirty plants by the end of 2018.
