Nancy's Transfret, branch of the Transport Barré Group specialized in road freight transport and in the logistics of the cold chain, has recently received ten NP Stralis trucks using liquefied natural gas (LNG) as fuel.

The supply will be completed by the end of the year, with the arrival of additional twenty NP Stralis LNG trailers at the Transfret Vallet branch, in the Loire-Atlantique.

The goal of Barré Group is to increase the LNG fleet to 70 vehicles by the end of 2018.

"The 2018 target for the Barré Group is to acquire up to seventy NP Stralis LNGs and become one of the first French fleets powered by liquefied natural gas,  through the technology provided by Iveco," said Bernard Chauve, President and General Manager of Trasports Barré.

"We experienced this technology in the Spring of 2016 and we are convinced of it," he added, pointing out that the tested vehicles offered the same performance as diesel competitors while reducing CO2 emissions, fine particles and nitrogen oxides.
