The 44th Italian LNG and L-CNG distribution facility was inaugurated in Brescia, built by Ferlina Srl, a subsidiary of Iclam di Montichiari, which since 1978 has been dealing in the distribution of petroleum products. The plant was built by Ham Italia, which will also supply liquid methane for an 80 m3 cryogenic tank. The delivery will start on April 23rd.
The new service station, equipped with two dispensers for liquefied natural gas and two for compressed natural gas, is located at the intersection of Via Borgo Satollo and Via Dario Morelli, near the motorway exit Brescia Centro, in a strategic position both for extra-urban connections, ring roads and the main motorway connections.
The next international conference on the use of LNG in transport - 15/16 May, Palazzo dei Congressi Mostra d'Oltremare, Naples - will be the chance to have an outlook on LNG distribution plants in Italy and Europe , as well as on the diffusion of trucks powered by liquid methane.
The inauguration ceremony of the new Brescia plant was also an opportunity for Iveco to deliver 5 Stralis NP 460s to the transport company Trailer Spa, through the concessionary VIVA Brescia Diesel of Castegnato (Bs). The ceremony was attended by the Managing Director of Ferlina Maurizio Pedretti , by Alessandro Oitana, Medum & Heavy Business Line Manager for the Italian market, by Fabrizio Buffa, Gas Business Development Manager - both for IVECO – and by Andrea Salvi Henry, CEO of Viva Brescia Diesel.
The Angelo Rattini company of Sant'Arcangelo di Romagna, with twenty years of experience in refrigerated transport at controlled temperatures, has also recently purchased 6 Iveco Stralis NP 460s.
