Gazprom Export said it has signed a contract with Global Gas Regazification, the company of Global Gas Group, to supply liquefied natural gas by road from Russia to Kazakhstan.
According to the company’s statement on Thursday, the first cargo under the small scale LNG contract will be delivered by the end of the year.
All in all more than 5000 tons of LNG, produced by Gazprom Transgaz Yekaterinburg, will be exported to Kazakhstan in 2017.
The first site to use Russian LNG is a university in Astana. It is planned that in the future this energy source will be used for gasification of further sites of the Kazakhstan’s capital, the statement reads.
“The complex gasification program of Astana and North regions of Kazakhstan based on liquefied natural gas emerged on the basis of the President’s instruction and the corresponding decision of the government of Kazakhstan,” director general of Global Gas Group Oleg Goncharov said.
Director general of Gazprom Export, Elena Burmistrova added that this agreement is a foundation for development of further cooperation in the field of small scale LNG supplies.
