China Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) will shortly deliver to the French navigation company CMA CGM nine new LNG cargo ships, with capacity of 23.000 teu each. The ships, equipped with dual-fuel Wingd engines and with a tank of 18,600 cubic meters, are 400 meters long and 61 meters wide, and will serve the Europe-Asia route.
Sorbonne, the last of the nine ships in delivery, has completed the phase of testing, and returned in yard on the island of Changxing, Shanghai, last May 28th. The ship should be delivered by the end of June, marking the completion of the project.
CMA CGM has moreover ordered twelve new LNG cargo ships, that will be realized at the Chinese yards of Hudong and Jiangnan. The new ships, whose delivery is previewed for 2024, will carry the CMA CGM fleet LNG Cargo ships of to 44 units (rented or owned), making the Company one of the world leaders of the sector.
