Fluxys aims to upgrade LNG truck supplies to Zebrugge

Fluxys, the Belgian operator of the high pressure natural gas transmission network, natural gas storage infrastructure and liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in Zeebrugge, is contemplating further expansion of its LNG for trucks.

Starting from 17 June, the company launched a notice to collect interest from the market for an upgrading of the current slots of the LNG truck refueling services in two loading bays at the Port of Zebrugge.

The Zeebrugge LNG terminal was one of the first terminals in Northwestern Europe to offer liquefied natural gas loading services for trucks, starting in 2010. After a recent expansion had already doubled the capacity, Fluxys has now offered 8,000 load slots per year to the market.

During the first quarter of 2020, Fluxys completed a record nearly 1,000 LNG loading operations.

Fluxys is actively interested in the development of the small-scale LNG market: in addition to projects aimed at continuous improvement of its installations (such as in the case of intermodal transport and LNG Hub); hence the request to test the interest of the market to further increase its LNG loading activities for trucks.
