Last June 25, at the Sturgeon Bay shipyard, in Wisconsin, (USA), Fincantieri started the construction of a LNG bunkering barge for NorthStar.
To start the construction, it was necessary to carry out preparatory works for several months, in order to install a 55-ton module for the construction of the ship, which will have a capacity of 5,400 cubic meters and will be destined for the distribution of LNG for the ships in U.S. East Coast ports.
The ship, ordered by Northstar last year, will have a length of 103 meters, will be called "Clean Canaveral" and will also be used for the transport of LNG.
The unit will be supplied through the JAX LNG production facility, located in Jacksonville, Florida, managed by the partnership between NorthStar and Pivotal, will be equipped with four type C tanks and a loading system built by Wartsila.
