Transportation and logistic company Brivio & Viganò, in line with the requirements of a more and more attentive vehicle emission level and with the aim of evaluating new forms of alternative fuel for its fleet, currently composed of vehicles Euro6 for 53% and Euro5 for 41%, has started a collaboration with Scania to experience the use of a new powered LNG trailer.
"We welcomed Scania's proposal to test this new vehicle on the road," said Alessandro Viganò, head of Brivio & Viganò's vehicle area. "We are always interested in testing alternative diesel solutions and the performance of this new fuel compared to environmental impact convinced us that Scania was the right partner for this test. "
The results gathered so far show a reduction of 20% CO2 emissions compared to Diesel engine and 68% of particulate matter without loss of performance of the vehicle in terms of safety and efficiency.
Given the autonomy of the vehicle, about 1,200 km with a full of 300 kg of liquid gas and a fuel consumption of around 1 kg/4km, the test of the engine was assigned to trips performed on behalf of a customer of the "Large Distribution" along the highway Bologna-Milan, conveniently close to the Piacenza LNG facility.
