On Thursday 22th November Rete S.p.A., a 30 years long experienced company in the retail and fuel distribution field, opened a new LNG refueling station for light and heavy transportation, the first in the Province, run by BLU in Beinasco, south of Turin.
The refueling station is located in a strategic area near the logistic centre of S.I.T.O and only 2 km far from main road “Drosso”. The plant, built by HAM Italia, is equipped with 1 regulator with 2 LNG nozzle and 1 regulator with 4 L-GNC nozzle, with a vertical tank of 80 mc of capacity.
At the opening ceremony there were the Rete S.p.A. CEO Teseo Bastia, Beinasco Major Maurizio Piazza, Sergio Chiamparino, President of Piemonte Region together with the Director General of the Market division of IVECO Italy Miahi Daderlat and Paolo Orecchia rom the local IVECO autorised retailer.
The opening ceremony was followed by the conference: “LNG: a concrete solution for future sustainable mobility” moderated by Diego Gavagnin, scientific coordinator of ConferenzaGNL. The interventions underlined the importance of teamworking in order to implement strategies and actions to reach overall goals in term of environmental sustainability and Energy transistion.

President Sergio Chiamparino said “We have to work together to implement all sustainable alternatives at best. The growth of intermodal transport can play a fundamental role in achieving common goals”. Rita Caroselli, Director of Assogasliquidi, added: “We need to act and work hard to provide Italy with small infrastructures LNG supply scales, the lack of which today is the real weak link in the chain”. Also, Marina Barbanti declared that “We prefer to talk about evolution rather than transition. We support and believe in LNG, with particular regard to heavy transportation solution.In conclusion, Dario Cingolani, commercial Director of LC3, said in conclusion: “We need an environmental revolution and increase the sensitivity of operators, retists and customers around the theme of sustainability”.
