Axegaz of France said it has recently opened the first public LNG service station on the Lille-Lesquin, the major center for transport and logistics in the north of France, marking the launch of liquefied natural gas supply in its European network of fuel distribution. The company in a press also announced that by the end of 2016 four more LNG filling stations will be opened in the municipalities of Sainte-Genevieve-des-Bois, Dijon, Corbas and Orange.

The self-service plant, developed by Axègaz Transport Solutions Development on a area of 2,500 square meters, is equipped with a remote monitoring system that can automatically identify the driver and the truck in circulation; for now has a storage capacity of 20 cubic meters and can refuel up to 20 vehicles per day, but by 2017, however, its storage capacity will be tripled to 60 cubic meters.

According to Edouard de Montmarin, development director at Axègaz Solutions Transport, the Axègaz network will consist of 49 stations in nine European countries, in the long-term.
